The Federal District Court denied the request for confidentiality in the investigation into the Bruno Henrique case. Relatives of the athlete formalized the request. The request concerns the investigation into whether the Flamengo striker benefited bettors by receiving a yellow card in a game against Santos, valid for the 2023 Brazilian Championship.
In addition, Judge Fernando Brandini Barbagalo authorized the Federal Police to share the evidence collected so far with the STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice). With this, the sports body can open a new investigation against the athlete.
The Federal District Court also rejected a request for reconsideration, made by Bruno Henrique, regarding a previous decision. In this case, the Court had authorized the sharing of the same evidence with the CPI on Game Manipulation and Sports Betting, installed in the Senate.
Finally, Barbagalo ordered Blaze to provide data related to four of those indicted by the Federal Police. The bookmaker appears in conversations extracted from the cell phones of those under investigation. However, it had not shared the information requested by investigators.
In a statement, the company states that it is cooperating with the investigation and continues to operate in accordance with the limits established by current Brazilian legislation.
Blaze’s note on the Bruno Henrique case:
Blaze informs that, within the scope of the investigations conducted by the competent authorities, it provided full collaboration and promptly provided all the information that was formally requested at the time, always in accordance with the limits established by current Brazilian legislation.
According to the Internet Civil Rights Framework (Law No. 12,965/14) and the Money Laundering Law (Law No. 9,613/98), only basic registration data can be shared directly with police authorities, when there is no court order, which was promptly complied with.
In the event of a court order, Blaze will always be available to provide additional data, such as financial and betting information, in full compliance with legal precepts.
Blaze strongly rejects and combats any illicit conduct, including any attempt at sports manipulation, and reiterates its commitment to the integrity of sports practices and absolute respect for legal standards.
The company also emphasizes that it operates regularly in Brazil, with a definitive license granted by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Treasury, and remains at the disposal of the authorities to collaborate whenever necessary, equally safeguarding the rights and privacy of its users.
Despite the indictment, the striker continues to play normally for Flamengo.
