First South American eSports Championship will be held in São Paulo

Brazil, and more specifically São Paulo, will host the first edition of the South American Esports Championship.

The virtual competition will be held on November 2nd, during the week of the São Paulo Formula 1 GP, and will be contested on iRacing using the FIA ​​F4 car.

The South American Esports Championship is an initiative by Brazilian Fabiana Ecclestone, vice-president of FIA Sports for South America, and its finals will be played in São Paulo, at the Max Arena.

“We are very excited to host the final in São Paulo at Arena MAX during the Brazilian GP week” highlighted Fabiana.


“Virtual motorsport has been a great tool for getting young audiences into motorsport. eSports have grown a lot in terms of the number of participants and also as a business, attracting new audiences.”

“It’s one of the channels we try to use to attract more people for their first contact with motorsport”, he explained.

iRacing is one of the biggest and best virtual motorsport and simulation platforms in the world.

The platform also organizes more than 100 virtual competitions annually and its users around the world can compete in more than 6,000 leagues or private events, in all types of motorsport categories.

According to Fabiana, the initiative aims to integrate South American countries and eSport practitioners. “I am very happy to offer this new talent development program to the region,” he said.

“The support of CBA through president Giovanni Guerra and Vinicius Prado from MAX Arena, was fundamental for the materialization of this event”, he highlighted.

About the South American eSports Championship

Each motorsport confederation in South America will be able to choose its criteria to determine the finalists, of which there will be 11 in São Paulo, in person, to define the champion.

The champion will watch the Formula 1 GP over the weekend directly from Interlagos. In the virtual competition, the first phase will be online, from September 29th to October 5th, through iRacing.

The MAX Arena, in São Paulo, is the temple of eSports. Max Arena was created to disseminate the gaming market through its multiple channels.

Pioneers of eSports and an international reference in infrastructure, the place has been used for various national and international events and tournaments.
