Exclusive Laurent Puons explains SPORTEL's format change in Miami

On March 14th and 15th, Miami hosted an event entirely focused on the sports business industry. SPORTEL created the “Rendez-vous”, a format with an optimized agenda for two days of event.

The meeting allowed for several more accessible meetings and product presentations, as well as an innovative convention and a series of networking and marketing opportunities to broaden the experience of event attendees.

The iGaming Brazil team covered the event in loco and produced special content. Among other personalities, the portal spoke exclusively with the CEO of SPORTEL, Laurent Puons and his advisor Nick Volante.

Puons explained the decision to change the format and name of the event in order to provide the community with a convention meeting their needs. The modification also served to differentiate the main event of SPORTEL, based in Monaco, France, from the initiative promoted in Miami.

He also celebrated the expressive numbers, reaching 500 participants, more than the last two editions in Miami combined. In addition, he added that SPORTEL will return to Asia in 2023. “We will be offering opportunities for Americans and Europeans to reconnect with Asian companies”.

Nick Volante highlighted the possibilities of the North American sports betting market, detailed in one of the main panels of Rendez-Vous. For Volante, the sports betting industry in Europe and other territories is already a billion-dollar business and in the United States it has gigantic potential.
