Six Caixa Lottery games will be readjusted after the end of this month. Mega-Sena, Lotofácil, Quina, Lotomania, Timemania and Dia de Sorte should increase the single bet by 50 cents, corresponding to an increase of up to 25%. It is the first readjustment in lotteries since 2019, according to the article by ‘O Povo’.
Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotofácil and Lotomania will have this increase from the 30th of April, while the value of bets on Timemania and Dia de Sorte should increase on the 3rd of May. However, the official announcement has not yet been made by Caixa Econômica Federal, but O Povo managed to access a note received by the lottery companies.
The lottery agencies have already been warned about the new values, which will be readjusted as a way to recover the monetary value of the bets, based on the update of their original values using the IPCA (Consumer Price Index).
New prices for the six lottery games:
- Mega-Sena: From BRL 4.50 to BRL 5 as of Contest 2588, on 04/30
- Lotofácil: From BRL 2.50 to BRL 3 as of Contest 2801, on 04/30
- Thursday: From BRL 2 to BRL 2.50 from Contest 6138, on 04/30
- Lotomania: From BRL 2.50 to BRL 3 as of Contest 2462, on 04/30
- Timemania: From BRL 3 to BRL 3.50 from the 1932 Contest, on 03/05
- Dia de Sorte: From BRL 2 to BRL 2.50 from Contest 753, on 05/03

“In compliance with this Federation’s request to readjust the prices of Federal Lottery bets, CAIXA carried out the necessary studies and, based on the feasibility identified as a way of recovering the monetary value of bets, based on updating their original values using IPCA, we communicate that the Lotofácil, Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotomania, Timemania and Dia de Sorte modalities will now have new prices. The other modalities remain with the current price.
The alterations will come into effect as of draws 2801 for Lotofácil, 2588 for Mega-Sena, 6138 for Quina, 2588 for Lotomania, 4932 for Timemania and 753 for Dia de Sorte. To this end, “Teimosinha” bets are being gradually inhibited by modality until the effective price increase.
CAIXA will make wide publicity and soon the lotteries will receive details of prices, new values of fixed prizes and parameters of the Bolão, as well as material for communication to players”.
