The sports betting app, Wanna innovated by promoting a competition recently. The Wanna Cup was the first tournament among bettors in the history of the market and featured professionals such as Fábio Bampi, Nettuno, and Danilo Martins, from Quero Bet.
As coaches, they built teams of eight members each who played duels with punters from the Punter and Trader modalities.
“Punters are bettors who perform analysis and bets before the event, while traders make trades during matches, profiting from the variation in prices. There was always rivalry between the modalities over who would be the best. We decided to put that to the test ”, said Allison Santos, Brand Strategy Consultant.
Allowing players to bet against each other is a differentiator of the application, while other platforms only allow players to adopt bets already defined by the houses themselves.
“After selecting the team, the coaches decided the day before the matches which participant on their team would face the opponent’s player, making the competition more dynamic and unpredictable, the choice of games and bets were left to the participants”, quoted Santos .
He continued: “In each round of playoff in a best of 3, there was an elimination and we were funneling. The winner of the first Wanna Cup was Alisson Cruz”.

Wanna app should promote new events with competitive format
The great champion gave details about his experience. “Participating in a championship like this, even more being the first, is a very special feeling. I’m still incredulous at the title. I am very happy. I hope there is a new championship, ”said Cruz.
Coach Danilo Martins was proud of his pupil’s achievement: “I was very happy to see someone on my team win and, of course, to see the Punters beat the Traders. There was a very strong union between the participants. As a coach, I showed the boys where they were going wrong and how to adjust their bets, in a very positive exchange ”.
The trend is that this will be the first of many competitive events, since the intention to mix bets, the community and the fun between friends was successful and perfectly matches the concepts defended by the Wanna app.
“We did not expect such repercussions. Our intention with the app has always been to unite and entertain the community in a unique way and the World Cup was one of the ways we found to do this. We received an extremely positive feedback and we are excited for an upcoming edition ”, concluded Santos.
